General Cell Information

Do you know what a cell is? Cells are the structural and functional units of all living organisms. Some things may be unicellular, while others are multicellular. An example of unicellular could be bacteria. You and me, on the other hand, are multicellular.
There are two MAIN types of cells: Prokaryotes and Eukaryotes. Prokaryotes are cells that lack a nuclear membrane, the membrane that surrounds a cell's nucleus. Eukaryotes are cells that have a nuclear membrane. There are more differances between the two. Prokaryotes are usually unicellular organisms such as bacteria, meaning they don't usually divide into two cells. Eukaryotes are things such as plants, fungi, and animals. They are also usually mulitcellular.
